USDA Honey Grading
Have you ever wondered why when buying honey, each bottle is always going to be slightly different in shades of color?
This doesn't mean that the honey you are consuming is bad or fake; though do keep in mind, there is fake honey out there! The different shades of honey do have meanings though. It all depends on the flowers that the bees collect the honey from. Colour is usually determined by the type of flowers visited by the bees. In general, light-coloured honey is more mild and sweet, while darker honey has a stronger taste
According to the USDA there are 7 color shade names though these "colors" are gradients
